What's the difference between Time of Day, Mesh, CR02, and Solar Event schedules, and when should I use each?
Time of Day — Fixed daily on/off times set via the app's More > Schedule page. Best for predictable schedules that don't change with the seasons (e.g., always on at 6:00 AM, always off at 10:00 PM).
Mesh — Coordinated multi-device behavior triggered through the wireless mesh network. Used when you want a group of lights to respond together to a single schedule command across the zone.
CR02 — A Real Time Clock (RTC) USB dongle that keeps time locally on the device, even after a power outage. CR02-based schedules are the most reliable for recovery after power loss and support sunrise/sunset offset triggers based on GPS coordinates.
Solar Event (Sunrise/Sunset) — Astronomical time triggers calculated by the CR02 using the location's longitude and latitude. Used when you want lights to turn on/off relative to the actual sunrise or sunset time (e.g., 30 minutes before sunset). Requires a CR02 to be installed in the zone.
Do my schedules automatically adjust for Daylight Saving Time?
Not yet. Keilton devices have no native DST setting. Fixed Time of Day schedules may run an hour early or late depending on when the app last synced time to the devices — the system clock is synced from the connected phone. Sunrise/Sunset (CR02) schedules will run an hour early if the device was synced while the phone had DST active.
Current workaround:
Before and after each DST transition, open the Keilton app, connect to the zone, and allow the app to re-sync the time to the devices. This resets the device clock to the phone's current local time. You may also need to manually adjust fixed schedule start times by ±1 hour if the sync window is missed.
A permanent fix that keeps schedules aligned to local time automatically is in development.
Why shouldn't I set two schedules to the same start time?
A CR02 can only execute one schedule per minute across the entire zone — this includes schedules on different CR02 devices and schedules configured via the app's More page. When two schedules are set to fire at the same minute, one will silently fail. This is most commonly observed as a sunrise/sunset schedule not turning off as expected. This is a known system limitation, not user error.
Fix:
Review all schedules across all CR02 devices and the More page, then stagger start times so each action fires in its own unique minute.
Will my schedules keep working after a power outage?
It depends on your hardware. Schedules will resume correctly after a power outage only if a CR02 is installed in the zone. The CR02 has an onboard Real Time Clock that keeps time through power interruptions. Without a CR02, devices cannot independently track time, so schedules may not recover automatically and will need to be manually reset via the app. This is expected behavior based on current hardware capability, not a defect.
If I use a scene, will it override my schedule?
Yes — triggering a scene will override your schedule's current light level, since a scene sends an immediate command to the lights. However, it's not permanent. Here's how it generally plays out:
- If your schedule fires after the scene is triggered, the schedule will take back control at its next scheduled time and override the scene.
- If the scene is triggered after a schedule fires, the scene will override what the schedule set — until the next schedule action runs.
So essentially, whichever command was sent most recently wins, but your schedules will resume normal control at their next programmed time.
One thing to keep in mind — if you're using occupancy mode, a scene that turns lights OFF could put the light into a manual-off state, which may affect whether the light responds to motion until the next schedule turns it back ON.
Can I enable or disable a sensor using a schedule?
Yes. Here's how:

- From the More screen, select Schedule.
- Tap + to create a new schedule.
- Set the schedule type, target group or device, and choose the action Motion On (enable) or Motion Off (disable).
- Set the desired time, repeat days, and save.
Can I change the working light level on a schedule?
Yes. The Working Light Level defines the brightness a light reaches when its motion sensor detects occupancy. To adjust it on a schedule:

- From the More screen, select Schedule.
- Tap + to create a new schedule.
- Select the target group or device.
- Choose the action type and set the desired brightness level (%).
- Set your time, repeat days, and save.
Note: If Auto Mode / Auto Calibration is active, the Working Light Level is automatically managed by the photosensor. A manually scheduled brightness change will apply until the next Auto Calibration cycle runs.
